ICFF has a broad research and development agenda, which falls
into three areas:
Basic ResearchStudies into the contribution of broadband to economic growth at the local
level, success factors and impact of digital inclusion programs, and measuring
return on investment to the community from Intelligent Community development
programs.
Policy StudiesModels
for government and public-private broadband deployment, stimulating government
and business innovation for local economic growth, and maintaining long-term
support for investments in community development.
Development ToolsA series of white papers on key topics for community developers, and a
Web-based database of best practices by communities around the world.
Projects are developed in collaboration between member
communities and the Intelligent Community Forum, and funded by grants and contributions. The research is conducted in partnership with
experts in academia and business under contract with the association. To explore opportunities to participate in
ICFF research projects or contribute funding to them,
