ICA welcomes membership from qualifying communities. The association also encourages all communities to nominate themselves for the annual Intelligent Community Awards as a step on the path to membership.
Qualifying CommunitiesIf your community is a current or former
Smart21 Community,
Top Seven Intelligent Community or
Intelligent Community of the Year, please complete and return a Memorandum of Understanding indicating your interest in membership. Upon receipt of a signed MOU, ICA will work with you to bring your community into membership.
A "community" is defined a town, village, city or metropolitan area – up to a multi-city region or small state or province – that has a distinct identity and the ability to act in a unified manner as a single entity. Its citizens and businesses identify themselves with that community enough to set aside small-scale differences and cooperate for the good of the whole.
